A Mystical Forest Haven
Located in the far northwest of Rwanda, is a realm of mist-covered rainforests and towering volcanoes. This iconic park, part of the larger Virunga Massif, is a sanctuary for the endangered mountain gorillas and a haven for nature lovers. The park is dominated by five of the eight Virunga volcanoes—Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabinyo, Gahinga, and Muhabura—each blanketed in thick vegetation and shrouded in mist. Lush bamboo forests, alpine meadows, and moss-covered hagenia trees create a mystical setting that captivates all who visit. As you traverse its dense trails, you are enveloped in the sounds and sights of one of Africa’s most biodiverse regions, offering an unforgettable encounter with nature’s raw beauty.
